Parent patent describes sandwich structure comprises 2 outer plies, each on a side, and at least 1 resin-impregnated core ply made up of an absorbent non-woven fabric of net or mesh-type structure, with regularly spaced holes in it. At least 1 of the outer plies consists of resin-impregnated glass-matting whilst the non-woven fabric core is impregnated with a resin not contg. any filler. The holes are filled with air and form sealed chambers by virtue of the outer plies covering them. The impregnant is an unsatd polyester or epoxy resin. The prod. can be shaped into spherically or otherwise curved mouldings.
