Plastic components are cut, and particularly perforated, by directly beamed energy; the apparatus used has at least one nozzle fed with high pressure medium under intermittently pulsed pressure control or fed continuously, and directed to the plane of cutting. Long service life of apparatus, simple design, low noise level, suitable for use with thermoplastic drainage pipes.
