NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic substance M-368A: Melting point, 77-79 deg.C; optical rotation [alpha]D<25>= -46 deg. (Cl, methanol); molecular formula, C38H58O7: and antibiotic substance M-368B: Melting point, 78-79 deg.C; optical rotation, [alpha]D<25>= 89.5 deg. (Cl, methanol); moelecular formula, C38H58O8. USE:Agricultural and horticultural microbicide effective to various blights of plants, e.g. sheath blight of rice plant. PROCESS:Bacteria belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing M-368 substance [pref. Streptomyces sp. M-368 (FERM-P No. 4517)], are cultured, to obtain the M-368 substance which can be separated into M-368A substance and M368B substance. |
