PURPOSE:To simplify an apparatus by measuring a remaining strain quantity from a difference between the strain quantity generated during applying an arbitrary load in order and that generated during decreasing arbitrarily the load in order by a displacement measuring device using a differential transformer and a load increasing and decreasing device using a magnetic coil. CONSTITUTION:A rubber-like elastic body to be a sample 9 is inserted to a bottom part of a protecting tube 8, a top end of a detecting rod 7 is brought into contact with the surface, then the sample 9 is heated to a prescribed temp. by an electric furnace 11 whose temp. is controlled by an output of a thermocouple 10. Zero points of the magnetic coil 1 and the differential transformer 2 are corrected, than the first step load is applied by the coil 1 and displacement generated after the lapse of a fixed time is measured by the transformer 2. Further, the second, third steps loads are applied stepwise in order to measure the displaced quantity in respective steps, then the displaced quantities are measured similarly by load decreasing operations. The remaining displaced quantity is obtained from a difference between both displaced quantities, and physical characteristics of the rubber-like elastic body is evaluated from the quantity. |
