<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate recovery of iron and to perform water granulation of the separated slag by heating slag taken from electric furnace by plasma torch to melt it thoroughly and floating upwardly and slag having small sp. gr. to separate it. CONSTITUTION:The electric furnace slag from an arc furnace 1 is fed in a vessel 3 on a truck 6 moved to the left. After feeding a prescribed slag quantity, the truck 6 is moved to the right, and stopped where the vessel 3 thereon is moved to just under a cover 9, and the upper opening hole part of the vessel 3 is closed by lowering the cover 9. As the result, the plasma torch 10 becomes the state being inserted into the vessel 3. Next, the torch 10 is fired, slag in the vessel 3 is heated to 1,500-1,800 deg.C and melted by the plasma fire, the floated slag is thrown 7 into a water vessel 12, and solidified. On the other hand, the sedimentary steel having high sp. gr. at the bottom part of the vessel 3 is discharged 8 to a steel tapping pit 13 at a suitable time and solidified. If ingot case is set at the pit 13, ingot making is possible at tapping time.</p> |
