NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R represents phenyl (substituted by NO2, CF3, halogen atom, lower alkyl or alkoxyl); R<1> represents 1-5C alkyl; R<2> represents lower alkyl; R<3> represents H or lower alkyl; X represents N or CH] or salt thereof. EXAMPLE:Ethyl 7-methyl-5-(3-nitrophenyl)-5H-thiazolo-[3,2-a]pyrimidine-6- carboxylate. USE:A remedy for cardiovascular system diseases such as antihypertensive and cardiotonic agent, etc. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (example; ethyl alpha-acetyl-3- nitrocinnamate, etc.) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (exam ple; 2-aminothiazole, etc.) in the presence or absence of a solvent (example; ethanol, etc.) and a base or acid catalyst, preferably at room temperature -150 deg.C, or three compounds expressed by formula III, formula IV and the formula RCHO are subjected to cyclocondensation under the similar condition.
