The drive roller (5) on the blade carrier (4), is connected to one drive (12), with peripheral groups of stabbing media, each with radially aligned cutting units. The roller's periphery fits close against the trunk (1) so that cutting units drive into the trunk about to be pared by the blade (2), and into a newly pared veneer sheet (6). - Between two adjacent groups, there are pressure battens (3). Compressing the part about to be cut, at a lever below that of the cutting units. Axial trunk ends are held up by a spindle (28) linked to a second drive mechanism (27) with provision for idling.
