PURPOSE:To mass-produce the titled blank at low cost, by heating and quenching the stainless steel strip of specified thickness for use of the cutlery within the limited temperature range, and by winding into coil after tempering treatment, and then, by punching the cutlery form successively from the strip. CONSTITUTION:The 0.5-3mm thick stainless steel strip for use of the cutlery is heated to 900-1100 deg.C and is quenched. Next, this strip is tempered at 150-500 deg.C, and is wound into the coil. The cutlery blank is prepared by successively punching the cutlery form from this coiled strip. According to this method, since the toughness is restored by the tempering treatment, the winding into the coil becomes possible, and the punching of the cutlery form is also permissible. Moreover, all processes down to the punching process for the cutlery form can be executed with the strip as it is, without requiring manual handling. |
