发明名称 METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ALKALINE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the discharge characteristics of an alkaline battery by mixing uniformly manganese dioxide powder with mercurous oxide powder by mixing means for finely pulverizing the latter powder, and mixing conductive powder therewith to then pressure mold the mixture to thereby improve the impregnation retentivity of electrolyte of the battery. CONSTITUTION:Manganese dioxide powder of the amount corresponding to 10-33 wt% with respect to the molded positive electrode entirety is mixed with mercurous oxide powder by mixing means such as, for example, an attendant mixing unit, a ball mill mixing unit, etc. for finely pulverizing the latter powder to thereby adhere finely pulverized mercurous oxide onto the surface of the manganese dioxide. After conductive powder such as graphite powder is added to the mixture, the resultant mixture is pressure molded to thereby form a positive electrode 1. It may also be molded with a metallic annular seat 2. Thus, it can improve the alkaline electrolyte impregnation retentivity of the positive electrode 1 to thereby eliminate temporary voltage drop phenomenon at heavy loading or low temperature discharging time in the alkaline battery.
