A door frame assembly having an inner portion 16 and an outer portion 28 of a door frame, each portion comprising two spaced parallel door jamb strips and a header strip, adjacent ends of the portions being joined by a tongue and groove interconnection and retained together by an adhesive 40, e.g. a foamed polyurethane.
