Title compds. (I; x,y = H, lower alkyl group, lower alkoxy group; A = lower alkylene group ; R1' R2 = lower alky1 group) , effective on peptic ulcer and having vasodilating activity (no data), were prepd. by reaction fo compds. (II) or its methl salts with compds (III; Hal = halogen; R1, R2 = lower alky1 group). Thus, 2,4-bis (3'-methylben-zamido)-phenol reactde with 4-dimethylamino-1-chlorobutame and the product treated with benwene and HC1 to ive1 -(4'-dimethylaminobuthoxy)-2,4-bis (3"-methylbenzamido)-benzene.
