The installation is intended for producing ice cubes in a refrigerator. It comprises a rotatable double-tray consisting of an open-top and an inverted container and a water supply. After the water in the upper tray is frozen, the double-tray is rotated through 180 deg. and the tray now uppermost is filled with fresh water. The heat content of the water suffices to release the ice cubes in the now lowermost tray without the need for additional heating.
