On a support (7) fastened on the keyboard (6), an elongate angle profile (8) is mounted pivotably about an axis (11) which is parallel to the keyboard. The angle profile (8) is provided with a series of contact tongues (10) which activate the circuits (9) for the electronic tone generation. By means of a pivoting device, the angle profile (8) can be pivoted out of a rest position (A), outside the movement area of the piano keys (1), into an operating position (B). The free leg of the angle profile (8) then projects into the movement paths of those ends of the keys (1) directed towards the piano strings. In the rest position (A) of the angle profile (8), the mechanical tone generation of the instrument is not impaired in any way. After pivoting the profile (8) into the operating position (B), the struck keys (1) actuate the contact tongues (10). The free leg of the profile (8) restricts the movement of the keys (1) such that the hammer mechanism is not actuated. The instrument then forms an electronic organ by means of the tone-generating device. <IMAGE>
