An accounting machine printer for line-by-line printout has a feed device activated by a driver unit and moving the document to be printed on perpendicular to the line direction. It enables documents to be printed using different formats and, without difficulties. A positioning control determines the initial line position on the document. Operation of a print initiation key causes a controller to activate the paper drive to move by the the required number of blank lines before the actual printing begings.
