<p>The steel bar reinforcement is utilised at the right angled intersections of monolithic concrete slabs and uses 'L' shaped transverse bars with a single longitudinal bar in the angle. In the case of an 'L' section joint, two transverse bars (2, 7) may be used in a partic. cross sectional view, one locating adjacent to each concrete boundary, each affixing to a longitudinal bar (1) in the angle, and each locating symmetrically about the joint diagonal. For 'T' section joints, one of the transverse bars in each pair may be twisted 180 deg. about its vertical leg (3) and for cruciform joints two 'L' bars in opposition overlap to form a central square core contg. the longitudinals.</p> |
