<p>The heating pipes are formed pref. by moulding channels into a sheet of plastic material, e.g. ABS, which is then mounted against a front planar heating plate, which can also be of ABS and which is exposed to the sunlight. These channels lead from the water reservoir at the top of the device to a collector at the bottom, and an outlet pipe leads from the collector upwards beside the heating pipes to a tap just below the reservoir. Pref. a hollow body is moulded behind the heating pipes to serve partly as insulation and partly as a support for the reservoir. The empty spaces may be filled with a thermally insulating material, e.g. glass wool. The heating effect can be accentuated by a transparent sheet e.g. of plexiglass mounted over the heating plate and spaced from it.</p> |
