PURPOSE:To improve only the rise of writing current at the writing and make possible high density recording by applying a specific DC magnetic field to a part of a magnetic circuit only at the writing thereby obviating hampering of reading. CONSTITUTION:A core 3 wound with a coil 4 is bonded to one lateral side in the central part between the air chanels 2 of a slider 1, whereby a minute gap 5 is formed. In a partly opened magnetic circuit 6 constituted by the slider 1, core 3 and gap 5, other core 8 orthogonal to the core 3 is mounted to the connecting part 7 of the core 3 in the upper part of the slider 1. When at the writing the coil 9 of the core 8 is energized from a d.c. power source 10, the connection part 7 is magnetized in the direction of A or B orthogonal to the magnetic flux C passing there through by the core 8 and a d.c. magnetic field is applied. This turns out that the magnetic flux C became small and magnetic resistance became substantially large, thus the inductance viewed from the signal power source side becomes small and the writing current rises sharply. |
