The kitchen sink (1) tapers slightly (2) towards the bottom, and has an overflow (5) and a drain (7) pipe to be fitted to it. A clamping device (9, 10, 11) fits to the drain pipe, and is so arranged that from underneath it presses the sink against the draining board (4). The clamping device can comprise two bent bars (10, 11) joined at the middle by a ring (9) fitting round the drain pipe and rigidly secured to it (12) typically by a ring screwing onto the pipe. The design is easy to transport and install, no screws being required to hold it in place.
