The platform of an offshore structure has supporting legs which can be lowered and raised, the feet resting when lowered in a support structure lying on the seabed. The parts contacting with each other maintain a funnel-shaped space between them, and between the side walls of the two parts, springs are fitted which rest against one of the side walls. The springs can be elastically deformed along both horizontal and vertical paths. They may be leaf springs formed so as to assemble into a funnel shape. They extend beyond the top rim of the holding funnel and are curved forwards and inwards. Used for the positioning of the legs in the support on the seabed whilst the platform pitches and rolls with the swell. The design prevents the one detail from being hammered and possible damaged by the other. The difficult task of putting down the legs can thus be carried out safely and efficiently.
|
