A substance used for a fluorescent screen(5) of Braun tube in B/W TV, has characteristics that; (a) it is a compound of fluorescent substance of zinc sulfoselenide, emitting yellow or yellowish green, at least one of whose revival quantity of Cu is 10-8g to 10-5g and of Cu and Al is 10-8g to 10-5g per 1g of zinc sulfoselenide whose formative formula is Zn(S1-a,Sea) (only 0.10<=a<=0.65), and of zinc sulfide, blue, whose revival quantity of Ag is 10-5 to 10-3g per 1g of zinc sulfide, and (b) the weight ratio of the latter to the former is 0.06 to 1.50.
