PURPOSE:To increase light output, and to enable obtaining good copy results even in lighting an exposure lamp for high speed copying, by providing stabilizer elements rendering almost square in waveform the lamp current to be flowed through a discharge lamp such as a fluorescent lamp or the like. CONSTITUTION:Stabilizer 4 consisting of stabilizer elements: leakage autotransformer T, phase advancing capacitor C, and starter ST, and autotransformer T is set so as to keep the secondary voltage below 100 V, and to approach the ratio of this to lamp voltage to 2, and a bridge gap is formed in the magnetic path of the secondary iron core and the distance of bridge gap is adjusted so as to approach the waveform of current of lamp 1 to a square waveform. As a result, light nonemissive sections are reduced in the light output waveform, good copy results are obtained, and the lamp current can be cut down in the amount of light output increase, thereby, permitting reduction of lamp current density and improvement of temperature characteristics. |
