PURPOSE:To increase a density of current which flows to a lamp and an output of light emission by supplying a sinusoidal input voltage by converting it to an alternating voltage of rectangular waveform. CONSTITUTION:When an input voltage of sine wave is supplied to a rectangular wave generator 5 from an input terminal 10, an alternating voltage of a rectangular waveform is generated from an amplifier unit and clipper circuit of that square wave generator 5, and this alternating voltage of the rectangular wave is conducted to an output transformer 6. After the alternating voltage of the rectangular wave is increased without change in waveform in the output transformer 6, the alternating voltage is applied to an extra high pressure mercury lamp through an output terminal 9 with the result that a generating output of nearly square wave with a high density is obtained. The rate of emission efficiency is improved thereby, and also the lamp luminance, increased. |
