The apparatus has a three-phase transformer (3) and a rectifier unit (4) which is fitted with controlled and/or uncontrolled rectifier elements. The three columns of the three-phase transformer are arranged such that in each case one end of the phase columns (5, 6, 7) is connected via separate yokes (8, 9, 10) to in each case one end of the two other phase columns. The other column ends are connected to one another by means of a common yoke. A three-phase system, which is designed as a star-connected circuit, delta-connected circuit or zigzag-connected circuit, is formed by the column coils (11, 12, 13). In the case of the six-pulse single-ended circuit which is used in the rectifier apparatus, it is intended to ensure that the current-conduction duration is increased without having to install notch filters. This is achieved by means of yoke coils (21 to 26) which are fitted on the separate yokes (8, 9, 10), some of the ends of all the yoke coils being connected to one another and the other ends of these coils being connected to the input terminals (27 to 32) of the rectifier unit (4). The material consumption and space requirement for an adjusting device (20) which is used in the rectifier apparatus and is constructed as a magnetic amplifier can at the same time be considerably reduced. <IMAGE>
