<p>PURPOSE: To manufacture a heat exchanger out of a thermoplastic polymer by a method wherein inert gas is supplied between sheets with a pressure larger than the atmospheric pressure, while tools are heated, and the sheets are thereby expanded in recessed patterns of the tools so that fluid passages between the sheets be formed. CONSTITUTION: A first panel formed of polyamide or the like and a second coated sheet are brought into contact with each other between tools of a press by a face-to-face method so that coating be provided on the interface of the sheet. The tools have grooves corresponding to labyrinths 12 of passages to be formed in the panel and grooves which hold parts of the panel corresponding to positions of distributors, i.e., positions of inlet and outlet header means. Then, heating to a temperature equal to or higher than a softening point of a polymer, for instance, is conducted and the distributors are sealed in a liquid- tight fashion at the positions of the inlet and outlet header means between the panels. While the tools are heated, inert gas is passed through between the sheets forcibly with a pressure larger than the atmospheric pressure through the intermediary of distributor rings. This gas is supplied to fluid passages of the labyrinths 12.</p> |
