PURPOSE:To enable the disconnection of excessive cables resulting in cable failure, by inserting the artificial line having equivalent loss to the cable loss to be cut off in the submarine repeater. CONSTITUTION:In the installation of the submarine cables, it is often taken place that excessive cable length is caused at the immediate end point of the installation, and if this excessive cable is cut off, it may cause the excessive gain to the overall transmission performance of system. Then, in the sub-marine repeater, the artificial line circuit network having equivalent loss as the cable loss to be cut off and adjustable on the installation ship, is inserted. As the sub-marine repeater, for example, that consisting of the cables 1, 7, power separation filters 2, 3, directional separation circuit 4, and amplifying circuit 5, is used. The artificial line circuit 6 having the cut off cable adjusting share is inserted between the filter 2 and the separation circuit 6. |
