A process for the production of yeast proteins from sulphite waste liquor and sulphite spirit residues

The process entails the amount of assimilable carbon-containing substances in the sulphite raw material being increased to up to 10% by weight by adding ethanol and being fermented with precultivated inoculum. Before the addition of ethanol it is possible to reduce the original content of reducing substances, especially saccharides, to 0.1% by weight by microbiological processes.
