Electrical resistance welding electrode - with heat resistant coating on working face for longer life

Electrodes for electrical resistance welding are made of copper or of a copper alloy with a high thermal and electrical conductivity. The entire working surface of the electrode is coated by a plated layer of a material with a higher heat resistance, pref. a copper alloy susceptible to pptn. hardening. Electrodes absorb the mechanical load by the hard and heat-resistant layer while the rest keep the temp. of the coating down. The result is a better cooling of the working area and a longer electrode life.
