<p>The support ribbon comprises tow edge parts and a centre portion between them, and is formed of four sets of yarns. The first set forms the knitted base structure with stitch loops in each row and wale of the tibbon; and the second set is of textured yarns knitted into the base structure, each extending across >=1 wale in the direction of the rows. The third set of yarns forms looped warps knitted into the base structure, and extending along the wales of >=1 of the edge parts. The fourth set of yarns are fed into the base structure, and extend into and along the edge part wales. A row of coupling or fastening elements are mounted on and along the fist edge part of the ribbon. The support ribbon provides fastener elements which are locked into the structure of the ribbon and resist stretching in the warp direction. A coarser central part assists correct and easy sewing.</p> |
