Electronic circuit cooling device - has expansion chamber and non-return valve to prevent air from being drawn into refrigerant vessel

A device for cooling an electronic circuit consists of a vessel (10) containing a refrigerant (3) in which the circuit is immersed. The refrigerant is cooled by evaporation and the vapour is then condensed by the condenser (5) and falls back into the liquid. At low temperatures the internal pressure falls below atmospheric pressure an expansion chamber (6) with a non-return valve(8) prevents air from being drawn into the vessel. Air is driven into the expansion chamber at high temperature but is retained by the non-return valve when the temperature falls.
