The instrument transformer is intended for matching current signals to the measuring region of a measuring or protective system, thus generating a signal in a fixed ration to the measuring signal. The current to be measured is branched onto at least two conductors. One conductor forms the primary coil of an active current comparator. The current transformation ratio of the instrument transformer is determined by the product of the current dividing ration in the parallel branch system on one hand, and the coil ratio of the secondary to the primary of the current comparator. For temperature equalising of the two branches are thermally connected, possibly over additional heat bridges.
