The head seals bottles by means of beaded-over caps having a rotary and sliding spindle driving a tappet with a plunger at the lower end. A rolling tool acting against the cap side presses this against the bottle neck. A sleeve (5) fits round the tappet (3) rotating with the spindle and also sliding at right angles to the tappet axis. This is spring-baded by screws securing it to the tappet. The rolling tool (12) is mounted on the lower end of the sleeve and in the tappet rest position the sleeve is coaxial withit. When the tappet is lowered it is eccentric to it.
