The correction system has a broadband noise generator and N+1 filters that can be connected selectively in series and that have adjacent passbands. A device attenuated the output of the N+1 filters. The level of the signal at the output of the chain after passing through one given filter and received by the listening device is stored. The level of the signal at the output of the chain after passing through the N remaining filters is compared with the stored signal level. The comparator's output is used to control the attenuator.
