An inorg. salt was added to waste water contg. oils as an oil-in-water-type emulsion form at <30≦̸C, and after agitating the waste water was settled at 30-80≦̸C. Thus, 15 parts NaCl was added to 135 parts waste water contg. 8% of a lubricating oil consisting of mineral oil 55, anionic surfactant 15, and nonionic surfactant 30wt% at 25≦̸C. Then, the waste water was stirred at 1700rpm for 10min and settled at 50≦̸C for 2hr. After removing the floated oil layer, the remaining water contained<30ppm lubricating oil.
