Carrier regeneration system for suppressed carrier AM signal - using two multipliers in loop and receiving demodulated and carrier signals respectively

The carrier wave regenerator retrieves the carrier from suppressed-carrier AM signals sent via cable or free space. The received signal is multiplied by the demodulated wanted signal. In a second step the received signal is multiplied by the regenerated carrier wave. The carrier wave is obtained from the result of the first multiplication whilst the demodulated wanted signal is obtained from the second multiplication. A pilot carrier wave may be sent out during relatively long breaks in the transmission of the wanted signal.
