The position adjuster is for a workpiece to be measured on a machine tool table. An upper table is movable relative to a lower table and supported on it at three points by balls. It enables almost frictionless horizontal upper table adjustment and rotation about one or more horizontal axes. This permits precise small amplitude position variations using only one upper table. One ball bearing runs in a longitudinal guide. The other two are each in a roller guide with relatively large surfaces. Horizontal adjustment is by rotating lever acting on the lower table via a roller bearing.
