PURPOSE:To cut short the time for warming up at cold temperatures by providing a thermal opening-and-closing valve in a cooling bypass of an engine, which adjusts the opening according to temperature. CONSTITUTION:A cooling system so an engine 1 consists of a radiator 6, a pipe 7, a cooling water pump 8, a water jacket 3, a thermostat 4, a pipe 5, and a bypass 9 bypassing the radiator 6, and is cooled by a radiator 6, when a fan 11 is driven. A thermal opening-and-closing valve 10 is put in the bypass 9, which opens widely in cold atmosphere and opens a little at normal temperature or abnormal one. In cold temperatures, water running through the bypass 9 therefore reduces in amount to increase the cooling water temperature for a short period. |
