<p>The plain journal bearing has a longitudinal groove (9) which covers an arc of about 30 deg. on the bearing. The groove has an even depth. The groove has two deeper grooves (21, 22) at each end. The end of the bearing housing has a seal (38). The shaft (35) has two grooves cut to it (34, 36) in line with the bearing grooves. Oil may be fed from the shaft by drilled passages (33, 34) or from the back of the bearing grooves (21, 22).</p> |
