The sofa has a part (2) which can be moved between an open and closed position. The fixed part (1) has a rigid horizontal frame (3) supporting upholstered base. The mobile part (2) has one vertical side (9) opposite the long vertical side (7) of the fixed part (1). The long side is fixed to a second, horizontal rigid frame (4) supporting upholstered base and positioned on a level lower than the first frame. The second frame (4) can be slid beneath the first frame. A lower mattress (8) rests on the first frame, and an upper mattress (11) is placed on the second frame when it is in an open position.
