Apparatus for use in the cultivation of plants includes a support frame 2, which can be foldable for stowage purposes, for a plurality of trays 18-20 provided with a porous synthetic growth media. A nutrient solution delivery system is provided for delivering the solution to the upper end of the trays, the latter being inclined in use, whereby the solution flows along the trays with excess solution flowing into a collecting tank 1 including collecting and metering compartments with liquid metering arrangements for providing a controlled liquid flow to the metering chamber, the latter incorporating a float controlled pump for controlled recycling of the liquid back to the nutrient solution delivery system. <IMAGE> |
