<p>The regulator valve is for plastic pipes, having a passage in a housing between inlet and outlet adjusted by a movable plug. It has an interchangeable screw-type pipe union (14) for a plastic pipe (13), fitting in the valve inlet or outlet (4, 5). The union is secured in the housing (3) and the plastic pipe in the union by a single union nut (29) which also forms a seal. The union can have an insert piece (15) whose insert end (16) forms a guide spigot (17) fitting in the bore of the housing inlet or outlet boss (18, 38) with a double seal. Its free end forms a further spigot (24), over which the plastic pipe end is slid as far as a stop (26). A union nut has a cone (31) acting against a mating cone (33) on a cutter ring (32) fitting on the pipe end, thus clamping this onto the spigot.</p> |
