The upper attachment edge of the curtain in which the vertical folds originate is provided with reinforcement elements (4) such as rigid strips of washable plastics, which are fixed in position in/or on the holder tape, to produce straight longitudinal strips. The attachment edge is also provided with stop members (14) which determine a uniform max angle and between the reinforcement elements to that the curtains have as a whole a precise zig-zag effect. This allows the window to be completely covered when the curtains are drawn but also allows the curtains to be drawn back and held compact at the sides of the window.
