The refrigerator with a safe defrosting system has the coil (18) inside the evaporator (11) connected to the sealed motor compressor unit (12) in a heat transfer circuit (10) which operates by natural convection. This flow is interrupted during the operation of this unit (12) and only converts the heat during the non operating time. The pressure line (17) of the sealed unit is connected to the interruption device incorporated in the return line (13) to the evaporator. This interrupting device may have a resilient blocking element, or a bimetallic valve member. This interruption device acts on a resilient section of the return line, due to heat received from the high pressure line (17).
