The leak indicator device is for batteries of tanks especially for tanks containing heating oil and made up from several double walled separate tanks with a control chamber connected through a suction pipe fitted with a liquid valve to a vacuum apparatus. The device has a vacuum pump controlled by a pressure dependant switch circuit and an alarm installation with an optical or acoustical display. The alarm simultaneously monitors several containers the control chambers of which are connected through at least one suction and measuring pipe to a common control container. The latter is joined by a suction pipe to the vacuum pump of the leak indicator device and through a measuring pipe to the pressure dependant switch circuit.
