<p>In a solar heating system in which the calories produced are conveyed by water to a storage tank, the efficiency is maximised. The tank is divided into >=3 levels for water at different temps. the highest at the top, which has an auxiliary heater, and the lowest at the bottom. For controlling the flow, the temp. in the collector and in the three levels is compared. If the temp. in the collector is between those of the first and second levels, the water is pumped through the first level only. If the temp. of the collector is between the second and third levels, the water is circulated in series through the first and second levels. If the temp. of the collector exceeds that of the first level, the water is passed in series through all the three.</p> |
