The mechanism mixes and/lr transports bulk material to a processing or storage point. An intake hopper is open at the bottom, below which is a transport surface travelling in the horizontal direction. A driving crawler track works in conjunction with this surface. The track (144) is situated below the transport surface (130), its area being at leat equal to that of the bottom hopper opening, and at a height below the surface. The weight of material on the surface brings the two into frictional contact.
