The remote operated surgical instrument for operations inside body cavities, has a rod-shaped body(1) inside which slides a tube(18). Mounted at the end of the latter is a final tube(8) forming a telescopic arrangement. This tube(8) acts as a probe, and is supplied with a cryogenic medium. Between the two telescopic sections is an insulating sleeve(17) to act as a heat barrier, and permit the inner section(8) to slide, to reach the operating zone.
