The reserve power supply for secondary DC supply is designed for use in ships. It consists of an AC or DC generator coupled via a regulator and diode bridge either to the load or to two batteries that supply the load in the absence of the generator and can be charged from the bridge. The two batteries are connected via their own switches to opposite points of one diagonal of the bridge. The generator/regulator is connected to one end of the second diagonal and the load can be switched to the opposite end of the second diagonal.
