The coal face cutter drive head consists of extended arm (s) which mounted at right angles to them, have a lateral suspended pivot spindle. The arm(s) carry at least one cutter roller with spiral grooved periphery. Pref. the coal cutting machine has mounted at the extended central pivoting arm, at either end a cutting roller (23) with opposite rotating drive movement. The peripheral cutter bits are mounted in a helical configuration. The gap between the cutter rollers is bridged by cover (48) with lateral folded side plates. An auger type feed screw is forwarding cut coal onto an extended endless conveyor in the longitudinal working direction.
