<p>AUTOMATIC FlSHlNG MACHINE The specification discloses an automatic fishing machine capable of being mounted on the side rail of a boat for automatically catching and boating fish. The machine comprises a fishing pole, a mount for pivotally attaching the fishing pole to a rigid support, vertical elevating means for elevating the fishing pole at a predetermined speed from a fishing position responsive to the weight of a fish attached thereto and returning the fishing pole at the predetermined speed to the fishing position when the weight is removed, and a control device for selectively elevating the fishing pole from the fishing position in the absence of the weight thereon. The machine can be manufactured inexpensively with relatively few parts and can avoid the use of very high hydraulic pressures. Oscillation of the pole tip can also be carried out in the fish catching position.</p> |
