1504664 Pipe protecting WINN & COALES (DENSO) Ltd 3 Feb 1977 [17 Feb 1976] 06185/76 Heading F2P Apparatus for wrapping protective tape around a pipe 11 comprises a frame having a pair of hinged jaws 1, 2 adapted to close around a substantial portion of the circumference of the pipe with the axis 3 of the hinge between the jaws parallel to the axis of the pipe, each jaw comprising a substantially U-shaped member of which the arms 4, (5), 6, (7), are pivotally connected to the hinge 3, means, e.g. rollers 10, for supporting the frame, once the jaws are closed around the pipe, for rotation about the axis of the pipe around the circumference thereof and means on one of the jaws for supporting a roll 25 of the tape. The roll support means is preferably a spindle which can be pivoted away from the pipe for loading the roll and if desired a second tape roll carrier 30 may be provided between the arms of the other jaw. In a further embodiment take-up means are provided for taking up interleaving material from a roll of interleaved protective tape. |
